WEEK3 POST SID: s0113833

WEEK3 POST

1.What services using mobile phones or other devices would CQU students like to see?

As we know that fact finding technique can be a vital source of information for CQU to develop the current information system for students to interact in friendly manner on to an improved version .In the aim of supporting CQU new Information system we will discuss the other Fact Finding Techniques, as part which includes Document review and Observation (Gary et al. 2006).

Document Review

In this session a document review is conducted based on the current system functionalities in CQU business system i.e. the total function of existing system. In paper based form the procedures, duties and rules are noted. We can also collect samples of documentation pertaining to systematic procedures followed by the concerns. Since CQU uses a web based management, a documentation of this system in reviewed (Gary et al. 2006).

Observation

The observation part is another aspect of Fact finding Technique. To be more particular it helps in judging the conclusion for the reviewed documentations and the stuffs in interviews. The current CQU systems are set under observation with formal check list (Gary et al. 2006).

Undergoing wide examinations in CQU academic forms, reports, and other details. With this direct conversation of related information are collected from the employees of organization (Gary et al. 2006).

2. What services would students find interesting and useful?

For the CQU information system, the feedback forms are submitted to gather essential resources in general based on the current Information system. The Questionnaire and Surveys are valuable tools in reshaping the idea of new information (Gary et al. 2006).

A survey is made with questionnaires based on the opinions and drawbacks concerning the CQU organizational functions, business systems, daily routines, library functions, staff management, study resources, overseas operations. These feedback reports are collected with predefined questionnaires for various departments relating to their functions (Gary et al. 2006).

Basically the questionnaires can be like open ended questions or close ended questions. The open ended questions are related to user input with range or scope specifying answers for the informative questions. The close ended questions can have a specific format like answers for instance yes/no or else in numeric forms. Be sure that the questionnaire is in orderly fashion, logical and meaningful for the users input (Gary et al. 2006).

Probably as an employee from the Information system, the recommended survey questionnaires can be conducted in web forms rather than paper or forms. Today the ease of approach and benefits can be achieved with web based technology – organizing, analyzing, processing and the other form of outputs can be done (Gary et al. 2006).

3.What might be the costs and benefits of these innovations?

To be more concern with the overall cost and the real outputs which can really help the CQU system to emerge itself out of the drawbacks of the current systems can be made out. So we can apply the sampling and research steps for the CQU to rebuild it firmly (Gary et al. 2006).

These sampling and research also falls in the Facts-finding technique. A sample is taken into observation i.e. the collection of data or forms for a single day operation in the organization as these facts will be clearer point of view for researching rather than analyzing the outputs of the reports especially from the questionnaires and surveys(Gary et al. 2006).

Gathering valuable resources from various sectors like Internet, Magazines, Newspapers, Consultants, Web services, Hardware and Software vendors. The collection of information such as government policies, I.T. support , services pertaining to web solutions, web marketing and business solutions (Gary et al. 2006).

The main theme of the sampling is what it actually does is that it mainly focuses on the calculation of the overall strength i.e. the operations that are carried out in accordance to the new innovative information system for the process (Gary et al. 2006).

The end product of sampling and research is the exact picture of the overall cost for the CQU new information system (Gary et al. 2006).

4. What mobile devices do students own? Phones? MP3 players?

A Questionnaire survey is conducted through web based management system to collect information for a specific service in order to apply in action for the CQU organization Therefore the systems analyst should prepare the form in such a way that it includes the form title, purpose of form, due date for submission of form.

In these the CQU utilize the close ended questionnaires which can collect the essential part of information from the end users. The questions can be preferably direct question as because these feedbacks will be of more précised for framing the extensibility of the system design (Gary et al. 2006).

In addition to the questionnaire form, space for brief information of the input users like their name, mobile number and their email address. The form can also have suggestion part from the user so that the personal views of the user regarding the new system or the questionnaire can be obtained (Gary et al. 2006).

The choice of the individuals are analyzed according to the report form which can very clearly explain the variety of approach needed for the system needs (Gary et al. 2006).
